The challenge

Industrial Additive Manufacturing is becoming increasingly relevant for spare parts, advanced components and distributed production. Yet many organisations hesitate to share digital manufacturing files with external production partners, service bureaus or remote facilities.

The main concerns are clear:

  • IP leakage: sensitive CAD, slicing or machine files may be copied or reused outside the agreed scope.
  • Loss of production control: it is difficult to enforce who may print, how often, where and under which conditions.
  • Limited traceability: many workflows lack reliable evidence of file version, license status, production authorisation and execution.
  • Barrier to distributed manufacturing: without secure digital control, companies cannot confidently scale decentralised production.

For high-value parts, regulated environments and strategic supply chains, simply sending production files is no longer sufficient.
